Welcome to episode IV of the trivia game. Please put your answer in the comments section, along with suggestions/ideas for future trivia questions/topics.
The second Kobudo weapon you will learn as a black belt is the Sai.
QUESTION: In Kobudo, how many Sai are traditionally in a set?
A) 2
B) 5
C) 3
D) As many as the karate-ka can effectively carry.
This was a trick question. Kind of unfair on my part, but if these questions were all easy it wouldn't be any fun.
In our style they are carried in sets of 3. One in each hand, and a third tucked into the belt as a backup if you do a sai throwing technique (yes we have those).
I say it's a trick question because here in America, Sai are almost always sold in pairs so it would be easy to assume that. In fact, I only own two sai for this very reason.

*Note* Karate is an art that for many reasons has a lot of information and misinformation out there. While I don't post anything on here unless I get it from a credible source, don't feel argumentative if you have heard information different from what's on here. I in no way consider myself to be anything close to the end-all, be-all of karate knowledge.
